What's in a name? In the web world, everything. When you set up your online business it is important to have a domain name, or web name, to reflect what you do but also to protect your business name.
A domain name, sometimes known as a URL, is shown in the address bar of your web browser. A URL will typically looks like this:
http://www.adido-solutions.com
The http://www of the web address can not be changed as it part of the fundamental workings of the Internet. The domain extension, .com in this case, can be chosen from a selected number of extensions available (see below). However, between these, any name or phrase can be used, as long as it isn't already taken.

You are able to choose anything you wish before this top level domain (e.g. your company name) and we recommend that customers choose their name with a .com and .co.uk in case users mis-type domain names. How much do domain names cost?
To obtain a domain name for your business doesn't need to cost the earth! We are aware of companies who can charge anything from £50 up to £250 for a domain name but we charge a small amount to arrange this for you. Prices start from £20+VAT for two years for a .co.uk domain name, meaning you can protect your company name for next to nothing. When you purchase a domain name, you can then go on to have email accounts with this domain name. What happens if I need to transfer my domain name?
Your domain name will be held on our reliable web servers and should you decide that you'd like it to be held elsewhere, we will not charge you for transferring the domain and we'll make sure that this is handled as smoothly as possible.
