Beating heart disease together!
On Sunday the 1st April 2007, three of Adido Solutions team took part in the Bournemouth Bay Run. Despite the cold wintry weather conditions, over 2500 people turned out to run either the 10k or half marathon to raise money for the British Heart foundation.
At 9.30am Jenna Law and Kirsty Fawcett, along with a few hundred fellow runners, set off on the 10k bay run cheered on by Dave Barker, the route taking them along the scenic beach front of Bournemouth past Boscombe pier, up the zig zag cliff path and back to the town centre. Luckily the flow of people carried them along with Jenna finishing in 1 hour exactly and Kirsty finishing shortly after in 1 hour 11 minutes.
Dave, who was brave enough to attempt the half marathon, did so in an impressive time of 2 hours 3 minutes. Together the Adido Solutions team raised approximately £270 for the British Heart Foundation. We would like to thank all of the people who gave generously and sponsored them!
Every year the British Heart Foundation saves thousands of lives thanks to their ground-breaking research and innovative health initiatives.
Dave comments ‘It’s important to keep reinforcing the importance of taking enough exercise, eating a healthy diet and being aware of dangers such as smoking, drinking, high blood pressure and stress. These are the main reason why I took part in BHF Bournemouth Bay Run 2007. It was a fantastic event but the weather could have been slightly better!’
