Our website was lucky enough to be nominated for the Hampshire County Councils Hantsweb Awards for 2007.
The Hantsweb Awards are run by Hampshire County Council and celebrate excellence in website design, web accessibility and service. The Awards have been running since 2002 and over the years they have highlighted the best in online services to local communities as well as benefiting the interests of all those who have participated. Nominations for the awards are assessed by judges with expertise and experience in their chosen field. Overall they look for good practice, accessibility, ease of use, relevance, and, of course, great design.
We have recently opened an office in central Southampton, Hampshire and we thought it would be beneficial for us to enter the awards to boost awareness throughout Hampshire. Our website, as well as the websites we design and develop, meet all web standards and regulations allowing accessibility to be easy. Alex Othold states:
'We find many of the sites we work on have limited accessibility and do not meet all regulations that they should do. Therefore when we re-design or develop a website for our clients we make the website comply with all relevant regulations and the WAI (website accessibility initiative). It is great to see how many people have nominated websites throughout Hampshire and Isle of Wight and it is certainly a fantastic way to celebrate excellence in website design, accessibility and service.
